Iasen is seated, turned towards the right, facing a table of bread offering. He wears a loincloth over which he attached a feline skin whose tail hangs below the seat. The skin is fastened, with a knot, over his left shoulder and he holds one end with his left hand. His right hand (represented like a left hand) is stretched towards the low table which is in front of him. On the table are upright half loaves of bread, arranged alternately as yellow and red.
Under the table, on the left, is found an abridged hieroglyphic formula of offerings: breads, cakes, crocks of beer, birds, livestock, followed of two '1000' signs. On the right, two kneeling characters hold small offering vases, one in each hand (see ch-942), whilst at the level of the top of the table can be seen a man who brings a ewer in a basin, for the libations.
Above the table are two rows of offerings with, on the right, a man who makes the characteristic gesture of incensement, raising with two fingers the lid of the vessel (see ch-944).
The two lines of inscription at the top of the scene state: "Overseer of the six tenant farmers of the palace, custodian(?) of the document containers of the king’s decrees, the king’s wab-priest, supervisor of the tenant farmers, the counsellor, Iasen

The Mastaba (G2196) of Iasen

East wall

This wall is on the left on entry and extends to the entry of the serdab, which is located at the east end of the south wall. This east wall measures 3.60m long because it extends into the entrance doorway. The decoration includes, on the left, three superimposed registers showing different animals on parade, heading south. On the right-hand side of the wall, occupying the full height of three registers, is Iasen facing left, followed by his wife, Meretites, and preceded by his (assumed) son, Meryankh.

The niche

This represents the only chapel of the monument, measuring 1.0m wide, 1.6m in depth and 1.5m in height. At the rear is a false door which includes, over the central opening, a panel surmounted by a roller. Again there are no inscriptions (see cm-59).

• The wall situated to the left (see cm-60) includes a legal text, the declaration of a testamentary decree, engraved in rather rough hieroglyphs. It mentions someone called Neferhotep and his descendants as persons in charge of the funeral cult which includes the reversion of the offerings from mastaba G5170 of the vizier Sechemnefer III, specifying that no one can modify these arrangements. It would seem that this text was destined to be longer.

The text : "The royal wab-priest, priest of Menkaure, overseer of the Ka-priests, Penmeru. He says: 'as for what concerns (my) brother of (my) funerary estate, Neferhotep, and those who will be born to him by father or mother, they are the Ka-priest of (my) funeral estate, for the invocatory offerings in the tomb of (my) funerary estate which is the necropolis of Akhet-Khufu, as they bring the reversionary offerings of my lord, the vizier Seshemnefer (III). Him (product) of 1 khat field [that I gave to him] as well as to his children. I have not empowered any persons to have authority over it, nor to any (of my) children to have authority". It seems that the following last two lines have been added as a codicil after the marriage of Penmeru to Merytites: "I have not given power to any son (of mine) nor any descendent (of mine) to have authority. He should give 5 pieces of this land to serve as the invocation offering of the king’s acquaintance, Merytites.".
